A great performance from our Yonwin Cup Team of 3 rinks against  a very strong Chipstead side.  In a fluctuating match we went 11 shots  down early on, recovered to level, got 2 ahead, slipped to 4 down, then 6  down, then back to 4 shots down, and eventually lost by 3. What a  game.  And special thanks to all who came along to support, and to all those whose score updating messages really brought this match alive for those of us who couldn't be there, as they have done throughout the season.

Very well done to Richard Tingley, who gradually pulled away from Kevin Spence of Malden Manor to win the Paston Cup for the Champion of all the Club Champions, by 21-15 - what a champion Richard has been for us.

Also, well done to Dave Cabot on again reaching the Ted Peirce Final, unfortunately losing out to another quality performance from Chris Jones of Epsom Park.

Our Men's Top Four team did a great job of representing Wallington in the Surrey Finals at North Sheen on Sunday. Although they succumbed to a masterful display by the Knaphill skip in the morning's Semi-Final, they continued to play excellent bowls in the afternoon to beat Old Coulsdon by a good margin in the 3rd Place Play-Off.  So many congratulations to Will Ward, Jon Wedge, Luke Griffin and Colin Wilkins, as well as to John Beard who was a part of the four who won through to the Finals from an original entry of 80 teams from across Surrey. And thank you to Keith and Margaret, who came and supported us throughout the day, despite the rainy conditions.

Well done to all those playing on reaching the Finals Weekend - winning through all the earlier rounds is a great achievement, win or lose in the Final.

The full results can be seen through the link just below, or opposite, but a special congratulations to the Club Singles Champions, Grace Stanley and Geoff Farnish, and their opponents Marilyn Williams and Richard Tingley.  And it was Geoff and Kate Mosley who reached the Millenium Singles Final, with Geoff winning that one.  

We are delighted to report that Wallington will be competing in three District Finals at Sutton, on September 20th - schedule to be advised.  So congratulations to:-

RICHARD TINGLEY - who beat Chris Jones in the Semi-Final of the Paston Cup for Men's Singles Club Champions, and will play Kevin Spence of Malden Manor in the final.

DAVE CABOT - who beat David Fearn in the Semi-Final of the Ted Peirce Singles for Men and Lady Club Officers, and now plays Chris Jones of Epsom Park in the Final, in a repeat of the 2022 final.

MEN'S 3 RINKS - who won through 4 rounds, beating Sutton in the Quarter-Final and Cuddington in the Semi-Final, and now face Chipstead in the Final.
