CONGRATULATIONS to our friends and neighbours at the Sutton Indoor Club, whose 4-rink team last Saturday beat Northampton in the Denny Plate National Final in Nottingham, after overcoming Lewisham, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Camberley, Cambridge Park, Adur and Torbay to get there.

I am (particularly!) pleased to report that in the Sutton Indoor Finals, WBC's Jon Wedge played lead in two winning teams, first the Mixed Triples (with Peter Elias and Carole Calder), recovering from 1-11 down to win in the last end. This was shortly followed by another 4-hour marathon, Jon and partner Robin Castle winning the Men's Drawn Pair, also in the last end. Our new member, Colin Wilkins, did extremely well to reach the Men's Championship, but wasn't able to overcome his opponent - a tough call, the opponent has been a national champion in South Africa!
